THE Women in Business network says it expects its landmark 10th anniversary awards initiative in March to attract both a record entry number and attendance.

“Every early indication points to this year's awards being easily the biggest to date,” WIB chief executive Roseann Kelly said.

“As we all know, women have made a massive contribution to the business community in Northern Ireland over the past decade, and our awards will be a huge celebration of this.”

The gala awards evening will be hosted by the effervescent Pamela Ballantine at Belfast's Crowne Plaza Hotel on Thursday March 10, where businesswomen from all sectors in the north will come together to recognise, reward and celebrate the best in home-grown talent.

Applications have already opened for the awards - which are again headline-sponsored by Virgin Media O2 Business - and nominations will be accepted up until Monday January 31 in the following categories:

:: Advancing Diversity in the Workplace

:: Best Customer Service

:: Best Exporter

:: Best in Professional Services

:: Best Marketing Campaign

:: Best New Start Up

:: Best Small Business

:: Outstanding Innovation

:: Excellence in IT

:: Outstanding Management and Leadership

:: Young Businesswoman of the Year

:: Outstanding Businesswoman of the Year

Ms Kelly added: “As a business community, our aim is to celebrate, encourage, and inspire women to achieve greater success, by highlighting the amazing talent of businesswomen locally and showcasing them as role models to future leaders.

“And with a record awards attendance now expected, I would urge women to nominate themselves or a colleague before the January 31 deadline.”

The 2022 ceremony boasts prestigious sponsors including title sponsor Virgin Media O2 Business, media partner The Irish News, along with others such as Danske Bank, Queen’s University and AIB.

Seamus McCorry, regional director for Virgin Media O2 Business in Northern Ireland, said: “We are proud to support career opportunities for everyone.

“Empowering women and helping them rise into senior manager and leadership positions is vital for a diverse and successful business community as well as the Northern Irish economy.

“We’re delighted to be working with Women in Business for the fourth consecutive year and look forward to celebrating some of the nation’s most exciting success stories.”

All finalists will join the Women in Business Award Finalist Alumnae of nearly 300 women which offers the opportunity to network and engage with like-minded business women, enhancing both personal and professional development.
