FAST-growing Northern Ireland financial services company FinTrU has taken its first step into mainland Europe with a new office in Maastricht.

The company said the new base at the southern tip of the Netherlands, next to the Belgium border, will allow it to support its tier one investment bank clients.

It follows the opening of a new Dublin office last month.

FinTrU now employs more than 900 people across Belfast, Derry, London, Dublin and New York.

Recruitment is now ongoing for the new Maastricht site.

Chief of staff, Katrien Roppe, said: “This is a very exciting time for us at FinTrU and Maastricht offers the perfect base for us in mainland Europe.

“With its central location, it means we are near to many of our European-based clients and as a university city it also gives us access to local talent who are considering a career in financial services or RegTech. Not to mention the fact that is a such a vibrant and spectacular city.”
