TRANSLINK has submitted a proposal notice ahead of progressing a major planning application later this year to develop a one-acre surface car park at Belfast's Lanyon Place into what it says will be one of the city’s healthiest workplaces.

In recent years the site has benefited from a number of office developments in the immediate vicinity which have transformed the area into a vibrant business hub.

And the new Lanyon Place development, as the last significant remaining plot, is seen as presenting an ideal opportunity to further regenerate and enhance this strategic city centre location.

Paddy Anderson, chief financial officer at Translink, said: “We look forward to enhancing the transformation of Lanyon Place by delivering a world class commercial office development on a site which is an important gateway on a prominent arterial route within the city.

“It follows other work by Translink to enhance the area, including the new Glider halts and the refurbishment of the front and foyer of Lanyon Place Station.

“We are looking forward to the pre-application community consultation and would encourage everyone to have their say on our proposals” said Paddy.

The innovative proposal aims to create a world class example of environmentally conscious design which will employ sustainable, low carbon construction methods.

When complete, it will be a high quality, accessible and flexible space that provides workspaces, informal meeting and breakout areas, formal meeting spaces and private working areas.

A consultation website is due to launch on November 4, with a consultation webinar a week later.
