EASYJET has launched a new route from Belfast International Airport to Bournemouth.

The new twice weekly air link to the south coast of England brings to 17 the carrier’s active routes at the airport.

Easyjet has signalled plans to ramp activity up to 29 routes by July.

With confusion over the updated advice this week on leisure travel within the common travel area, EasyJet has said customers can change their flights without a change fee, at any time up to two hours before departure, or request a voucher.

The airline’s UK country manager, Ali Gayward said “Our protection promise means that customers can book with confidence knowing that if they are unable to travel or if their plans change, so can their flights, and we are looking forward to be reuniting friends and family or take customer on long-awaited holiday.”

She added: “We are proud to be the largest airline at Belfast and remain committed to offering customers great value fares and more choice when they fly with us.”

Uel Hoey, business development director at Belfast International Airport, said: “We are incredibly proud to be launching another easyJet domestic service from Belfast International Airport.

“The resplendent south coast of England was essentially the last remaining region of the UK uncovered by easyJet service from Belfast.

“The route will also provide an excellent connection for holidaymakers in the region to make the trip northbound to experience the multitude of attractions on offer across Northern Ireland.”
