Lisburn blinds firm further expands with US shutter acquisition

THE holding company of Decora Blind Systems in Lisburn has made another significant acquisition.

Mzuri Group, established in 2018 by the owners of Decora Blinds to enable a growth strategy, has bought TCMM Shutter Group for an undisclosed sum.

It’s the fourth acquisition announced by the Lisburn company since the British Growth Fund (BGF) bought a £10 million minority stake in the company two years ago.

Founded in 2002, TCMM has become one of the largest interior wood shutter distributors in the UK. Its retail brands including Shutterly Fabulous and California Blinds, and it has an additional operation in the USA under the Shutter Store brand.

The company, which employs 66 people, will continue to operate independently under current management. Its UK headquarters will remain in Brighton and in the USA in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Murray Clark, managing director of TCMM Group, said: “We've had a close relationship with Mzuri for the past few years and are looking forward to working with the team to further expand our portfolio.

“Its vision and growth strategy is inspiring, and looking ahead, TCMM will continue to focus on our own UK and US presence while developing our growth in other markets.”

Following the acquisition, Mzuri Holdings now employs a total of 1,227 people, including over 1,000 at its headquarters in Lisburn.

As well as Decora Blinds, Mzuri’s other companies include Swift Direct Blinds in the UK, Domus Lumina (Lithuania), 123 Jaloezie (Holland) and Max Gardiner (Sweden).
