THE award-winning arts venue the MAC in Belfast has launched its new Café Bar, carefully planned to enable visitors to eat, drink and work in a safe and stimulating environment.

It provides a space where workers can take a much needed break from the home office or meet with a colleague in a socially distant and controlled way.

A specially-curated autumn menu has also been designed by head chef Gareth Curran, formerly of Mount Charles and who has more than 30 years experience in the catering industry.

He said: “We’ve spent the last few months, whilst we’ve been closed, revamping and refreshing our Café Bar and developed a menu that is in keeping with the welcome visitors have come to expect here at the MAC.

“The new venue is a friendly place for visitors to think, work, hide, unwind and of course indulge, so we look forward to welcoming everyone here to enjoy what we have on offer.”

Since its opening in 2012, the MAC has become a cultural hub in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter. The venue is a registered charity and reinvests the revenue generated through the cafe bar to produce its programme of visual art, theatre, dance, and workshops for arts and culture lovers across Northern Ireland.

Gareth added: “All revenue raised through the Café Bar goes into creating connections between people and art. So when you next visit for a coffee or bite to eat, know that you are doing your bit to secure the future of this cultural venue.”
