GREEN energy supplier 3T Power has announced a partnership with Lisburn conveyor belt and rubber parts manufacturer Smiley Monroe.

The deal will see all Smiley Monroe’s operation, including a 55,000 sq ft manufacturing facility, powered by wind energy.

3T Power said the expected annual CO2 reduction will be around 270,000 kg.

Set up three years ago, 3T’s director Thomas Kelso described the firm as the north’s only electricity supply company dedicated to providing local businesses with 100 per cent renewable electricity generated locally.

Tim Monroe, marketing director of Smiley Monroe, said: “Our business is part of a global supply chain, so we’re delighted to support local innovation. We’re very aware of the impact of global warming and the need for Smiley Monroe to help lead the way to a greener future by doing everything we can to minimise our carbon footprint.”
