VOTING is under way in the latest campaign launched to find the north's favourite local independent retailers.

The ‘People’s Vote’ initiative is being promoted for the second year running by Retail NI and the Irish News, and is supported by Camelot.

And the visibility of the campaign is being enhance via a series creative ads included on more than 60 Translink buses, operating primarily in Belfast and Derry.

The People's Vote was formally launched on Independents’ Day, a campaign that exists to support and promote independent retail businesses across the UK all year round.

From now until July 31, Irish News readers have the opportunity to let independent traders know just how much they are treasured.

All you have to do is go to www.irishnews.com/local and vote for the local shop that means most to you and your family.

Retail NI chief executive Glyn Roberts said: “There’s never been a more important time to celebrate and acknowledge local independent retailers as we work through the Covid-19 crisis.”
