Newtownabbey-based themed furniture designer launches new stand to tackle Covid-19 in Italy

NEWTOWNABBEY-based themed furniture designer and supplier, Environmental Street Furniture (ESF), has launched a new product in Italy to help tackle coronavirus.

ESF has collaborated with The Italian Lab for the ‘stand up’, which has been designed to feature hand sanitisers, gloves and bins.

The Co Antrim company has also secured a distribution partnership local firm Aktivora, which has marketed an innovative plant-based sanitiser that kills Covid-19.

Alan Lowry of ESF said the Italian project was the result of a conversation with Marco Vivan of The Italian Lab.

He said it had developed rapidly, with McDonalds in Italy placing an order for over 3,000 units.

“We’ve found the last few weeks very fast moving regarding this project,” said Mr Lowry.

“When Marco and I spoke, we knew that everything to date in this arena was made of plastic however, we wanted something sleek and befitting of its brand, as well as versatile and durable. The stand up, made of sheet metal and powder coated, does all of that.

“More recently, I’ve also just secured distribution partnership with Aktivora to supply their totally natural plant-based ingredient sanitiser across the UK and Ireland and to be used with the stand up. “This is an outstanding product and I’m delighted to be able to assist in its distribution.”
