SWEDISH-rooted on-road load handling equipment specialist Hiab has turned to former SDC Trailers managing director Mark Cuskeran to be its new sales and installation partner in the north.

Hiab confirmed that it as added MAW Engineering in Toome as its authorised sales partner for Northern Ireland and the border counties of Cavan, Donegal and Monaghan.

MAW was launched in May by Cuskeran, who spearheaded the expansion of SDC to become one of Europe’s leading trailer manufacturers, prior to guiding the company through its sale to Chinese company CIMC in 2016.

He said: “Hiab produces excellent products and we are delighted to become its partner.

“We have a modern 50,000 square foot facility situated across six acres in Creagh industrial estate, will have a dedicated demonstration area for the Hiab products.”

The MAW agreement complements the Hiab service and parts provision delivered by Dennison BodyShop across the same territory - an arrangement that will continue.

Mr Cuskeran added: “We have worked with Dennisons many times over the years. They are a very professional company and provide a great service and parts offering. Our prospective sales teams will work closely together.”

Michael Petticrew, operations director at Dennison Commercials in Ballyclare, said: “Hiab, as a leading brand and quality product, has now got two strong partners in Northern Ireland.

“With MAW Engineering providing sales and installation of Hiab equipment, and Dennison Bodyshop providing the after sales support and installation, we can deliver the full package of services and solutions for customers across Northern Ireland and the three bordering counties.”

Hiab's UK and Ireland managing directed Ian Mitchell added: “Dennisons has been providing a fantastic servicing and spare parts service to our customers in Northern Ireland for the past three years.

“Now we have a sales and installation offering from MAW Engineering to complement that provision, which gives our customers in Ireland access to a full package of Hiab sales, installation, service and parts.”

Hiab was established in a Swedish forest in 1944 and has become a global leader in on-road load handling by continuously improving customers’ productivity, sustainability and safety.
