Peter O’Shea named new president of British Irish Chamber of Commerce

THE British Irish Chamber of Commerce has appointed Peter O’Shea as its new president at its AGM held at McCann FitzGerald this week.

The head of corporate and regulatory affairs at ESB, Mr will take over the role from John Cronin, from McCann FitzGerald. The chamber also appointed PwC partner Paul O’Connor as its new vice president.

“Brexit has resulted in sustained uncertainty for businesses on these islands over the last three years,” said Mr O’Shea. “During this time the British Irish Chamber of Commerce has striven to be a constructive voice in the debate putting forward solutions to the challenges that we collectively face.

“As we look to enter the next stage of the Brexit process, the Chamber will continue to offer business led solutions to help protect the jobs, commerce and prosperity that comes from our close trading ties.”
