BELFAST-based food services firm Mount Charles has been awarded a major catering contract by RTÉ.

The seven-year deal will see the company deliver food and beverages for 1,822 staff and clients at the broadcaster’s Donnybrook campus, which includes RTÉ’s television and radio studios, as well as the Fair City set.

Mount Charles said that following market research and analysing RTÉ’s requirements, it invested £100,000 to deliver a new experience.

Mount Charles now employs around 2,500 people across Ireland and the UK, serving around 400 clients.

Chairman and founder Trevor Annon, said: “We are delighted to announce our most recent contract win. It is the ‘jewel in the crown’ of some heavyweight contracts we have picked up over the last two years and I believe it sends out a strong message to the market.

“Using our extensive knowledge from operating many similar catering solutions, we believe that we have created a strong food offer and brand that is appealing and will meet all of RTE’s staff and customers’ needs.

“We are confident that the service we can provide to RTÉ will be unrivalled.”
