DUNGANNON recycling firm Kiverco has secured new business in UAE worth nearly £3 million after tying up a deal with waste management company Dulsco.

It follows Kiverco - which designs, engineers and builds recycling plants for the waste processing industry - recently appointing a new distributor in Poland to expand its existing partner network and grow business across Europe.

The company's general manager Paul Carolan said: “The recycling industry is changing dramatically, driven largely by the requirement for better purity levels in output. We've been building recycling plants for 25 years and our product design has had to constantly evolve with changes in the marketplace.

“We know we have great products that can meet the demands of customers and are keen to grow the business into new markets. Invest NI’s support has been invaluable in helping us win this new business, and establish important partnerships in other markets.”

He added: “Winning this new contact in UAE is a huge step for us. We've done our research, participated on Invest NI visit programmes to explore the opportunities and it is now paying off as we secure new business.”

Steve Harper, executive director of international business at Invest NI, said: “Our teams both in Belfast and in UAE have supported Kiverco to explore new markets and ultimately help secure this new business in UAE.

“Our UAE team met with Dulsco a couple of years ago and recognised the potential for a trade deal for a Northern Ireland company. We organised an inward visit to Northern Ireland to showcase the strengths of our recycling sector and as part of this made introductions to Kiverco, which has led to it winning this important and lucrative contract.”
