PLANS have been submitted for a £4.3 million social housing development at the site of a former Derry primary school.

Radius Housing Association is behind proposals for a housing scheme at the old Ebrington Primary School campus on Ulsterville Avenue in the Waterside area of the city.

The plans, submitted earlier this month, are for 49 homes, along with associated landscape and access works.

The Ebrington Primary school site has been vacant since April 2017 following the building of a new campus incorporating Ebrington and Foyle college grammar school on the neighbouring Limavady Road.

In the wake of the move the derelict site has been subject to a series of arson attacks over the last two years.

Radius has a social housing presence in all 11 council areas and manages 12,500 properties in 80 towns across the north. The social enterprise employs over 1,000 people, with offices in Belfast, Holywood, Ballymena, Newry and Derry.

Meanwhile plans have been approved for a multi-million pound housing development in Craigavon.

The scheme, being brought forward Rowan Park Developments is for 48 homes on land adjacent to Rowan Park, Tullygally.

The development is a mix of 18 detached and 30 semi-detached homes, along with associated site works and landscaping.

Planning permission was granted last week after an application was lodged in July 2018. Construction work could begin as early as this year.

Rowan Park Developments has two listed directors - Chau Lung Wan and Canice Mallaghan. Both are also listed as named directors at development firms, Ann Street Regeneration and Moorefield Investments.
