WORK will begin next month on a major refurbishment of Danske Bank’s branch in Bloomfield shopping centre.

To facilitate the building work, the branch will close on Saturday February 9 and the branch team will move to Bangor branch before the newly refurbished Bloomfield branch reopens on Monday April 8.

The scheme is part of an ongoing investment by Danske over the last two years to upgrade a number of its branches across the north.

Bloomfield branch manager Nick Craig said: “Customers can expect a modern and welcoming look and feel, and also some service enhancements.

"Our new automated banking area will be open for the same hours as the shopping centre and will have additional functionality, which means customers will be able to do more banking themselves at a time that suits them.

“We understand the temporary closure of the branch may be inconvenient for some customers, but by doing so we will be able to reopen our transformed branch much sooner.

"There are a number of alternatives in place for customers during the renovations and we are opening our Bangor Main Street branch on Saturdays during this period. But I would encourage customers with any concerns to speak to me or to my team at any time.”
