WORKERS believe that achieving the right skills will be the biggest issue employers face this year, a new study suggests.

Research by the conciliation service Acas indicated that technology and productivity will also have to be tackled in workplaces in 2019.

Acas chief executive Susan Clews said: "Employees feel that getting workers with the right skills is a key concern in the year ahead.

"This could be attributed to uncertainty around our relationship with the EU at the moment or general concerns around skills shortages.

"Technological change is also on people's minds and we have found that if it is not managed well then it can cause stress and impact workplace relations."

A survey of over 2,000 workers also found that health, equality and fairness were also identified as important workplace issues for the year ahead.
