Belfast technology firm i3 Digital turns up the Heat in New England
BELFAST-based i3 Digital has been chosen to supply the technology for a disruptive heating oil delivery company in the US.
Heatable (www.heatable.com) launched in southern New Hampshire and Maine in October with a vision of disrupting the existing antiquated heating oil industry, which still primarily relies on phone-based ordering and payment by cash and cheque.
It is a fully digital heating oil company which offers customers a low-cost convenient way to get heating oil delivered to their homes via an intuitive and highly streamlined order, pay and deliver process that is fully integrated into its internal systems.
The team from i3 Digital (www.i3digital.com) was involved from the conception of the Heatable business, and after just a few weeks hundreds of customers have signed up for Heatable's website and smartphone app.
“The initial response has been phenomenal, exceeding all our expectations,” says David Simmons, Heatable's project and business leader.
“i3 has been instrumental in developing and launching our intuitive and highly streamlined order, pay and delivery process. They are true partners and worked with us from the early concept, all the way to launch. We couldn't have done it without them.”
Adrian Bradley, chief executive and founder of i3 Digital, said: “We're proud to have been chosen by the Heatable team when the business was still only an idea. From being involved in the branding process and seeing it come to life, it has been a tremendous buzz for us. We are looking forward to phase two and working with Heatable to be the pre-eminent go-to oil company on America's East Coast.”
The team at i3 Digital specialises in partnering with businesses and organisations to deliver highly integrated digital platforms, and in the last year has established a major presence in the US market, securing close to $2 million of new contracts and creating around a dozen jobs.
Heatable is a spin-out company founded by Dead River, a New England-headquartered energy company with more than 1,000 employees and annual revenues of more than $600 million.
