Belfast engineering firm invests £175k in aerospace expansion
A BELFAST-based engineering firm is planning for a prosperous 2019 after investing £175,000 as part of an expansion into the aerospace industry.
McGreevy Engineering, based in Maryland Industrial Estate on the Ballygowan Road, has reported growth of 50 per cent this year, while the family business has also seen staff numbers rise by almost a third to 15 people.
Specialising in precision machined components, five-axis milling and multi axis turn milling, the latest investment has enabled the company to diversify into the lucrative aerospace manufacturing market.
Managing director, Aaron McGreevy believes the investment will position the company amongst the finest within its sector in the north.
"With its rich engineering history, Northern Ireland is renowned as being a global leader in aerospace technology, this investment and the increase in McGreevy Engineering's skillset offers the company a platform to present themselves as a major player in this rapidly evolving industry," Mr McGreevy said
“We have had our sights set on the aerospace industry for a long time and after continual training and development, I can safely say that we have the skill set to service the industry to the highest quality. We attended both the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg and International Airshow in Farnborough in 2018 and I was delighted with the interest and engagement."
Looking ahead Mr Greevy and his team, who are now mixing with the best in aerospace engineering and technology at international events, believe the sky is the limit for the growing firm.
“This is only the beginning of McGreevy Engineering's journey in the aerospace sector, we aim to continually offer the most advanced services in engineering. As the industry further evolves and develops, so will we," he added.
