Gareth McKeown

THE north's largest independent communications provider is creating 35 jobs during a period of rapid expansion at the business.

The Barclay Group, which has taken on 15 staff in the last three months alone, will boost its staff numbers by almost 20 per cent with its latest recruitment drive.

Barclay Group managing director, Britt Megahey explained that the latest expansion is a response to growing demand.

"The Barclay Group services over 75,000 connections across mobile, digital services and WorkPal and an increase in demand means we now need to expand our workforce," he said.

"We have an exciting few years’ ahead of us with the aim of growing our brand in new and existing markets.”

“Our people are the connection between our clients and products. In an extremely competitive industry, we continue to be a leading communications provider in Northern Ireland and that is down to the dynamic and highly educated team of people we employ," Mr Megahey added.

The new roles available include outbound and field sales, business support, administration and finance, account management, software development and technical support.

Located in Belfast city centre, The Barclay Group employs around 200 staff across its three main sectors and has been providing a range of communication services to businesses for over 21 years.

Northern Ireland’s only O2 direct network partner, the company has developed its offering significantly since its inception and in addition to mobile and landline solutions as well as digital services, the firm has developed the WorkPal mobile app for workflow management.

The company has also successfully been awarded a place on the Government Framework for the Digital Marketplace for the second year running, opening up a number of opportunities in the public sector.
