BELFAST'S CastleCourt shopping centre has created the north's largest electric car charging hub.

The new hub, which features three Tesla chargers - a first for Belfast and five Zappi chargers, is now operational in CastleCourt’s car park and is free to use for customers.

CastleCourt centre manager, Paul McMahon, said the latest initiative created multiple benefits for shoppers, the city and the wider environment.

“Our new e-car charging hub represents a sustainable and substantial investment. It also shows just how committed we are to introducing meaningful initiatives that will positively impact Belfast city centre’s air quality and environment and the experience of all our shoppers.”

This cutting-edge power hub features both Tesla ‘Destination’ charging points, specially-designed for Tesla’s new e-car models, as well as five Zappi charging points which accommodate drivers of all electric car brands.

CastleCourt is now one of only two shopping centres in the UK and Ireland to have an e-car charging hub this large.
