SUBMISSIONS for this year's Women in Business Awards close on Monday October 1.

And as an additional incentive for applicants, all finalists will be invited to an exclusive one-day retreat in Dublin to visit the Virgin Media Television Studios for a day of workshops and networking with special guest Tracey Jane Cassidy, founder and chief executive of Junior Einsteins and winner of Voom 2018.

The retreat is a key element of the Women in Business Awards, offering finalists an opportunity away from their hectic schedules to meet with like-minded women, make new connections, take stock of their achievements and learn from each other’s successes and create excitement in the run up to the awards, which take place on November 8 at the Crowne Plaza, Shaws Bridge.

Women in Business chief executive Roseann Kelly said: “We're encouraging nominations for inspirational females from all sectors for the eighth Women in Business Awards supported by Virgin Media Business.

"If you know or work with a motivational woman or you feel you have excelled in the business world, don’t miss this opportunity for acknowledgement, celebration and networking.

“There are 11 categories on offer, with three boasting awards for both an individual and corporate level. There are 14 awards in total, offering recognition to entrepreneurs and business women alike, and then there is the most coveted award, Business Woman of the Year, as voted for by the judges.”

The 2018 awards are supported by Virgin Media Business, whose Northern Ireland head of sales Seamus McCorry said: “Our partnership with Women in Business sees a merging of creative thinking and implementation of a strategic plan to equip women with skills to develop their careers, facilitating women’s positive contribution to the economy and society of Northern Ireland.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Women in Business as we build a diverse and gender balanced workforce which reflects our customers and the communities we serve and ensures our people can be their best selves at work.”

Tickets for the awards night are currently on sale, and early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. The evening allows representatives from all sectors to come together to celebrate the best of home-grown talent and the valuable contribution that women make to economic life in Northern Ireland.
