Lisburn security firm Mercury announces £500k expansion, creating over 90 jobs

THE north's largest independently owned security firm has announced a £500,000 rebrand and expansion, which will see the creation of over 90 new jobs.

Lisburn-headquartered Mercury Security Management has launched a new facilities management division and as a result of the rebrand will be now be known as Mercury Security & Facilities Management.

In addition to its existing range of integrated security solutions, the company will now also provide a range of additional services including daily contract and industrial cleaning, housekeeping, pest control and full washroom services.

The announcement follows a period of sustained growth for Mercury, which in recent months has signed deals with Almac Group, Harvey Norman, Market Cross Shopping Centre in Kilkenny and Woodie's DIY, as well as securing contracts with UK shopping centres Hammersmith Broadway and Fulham Broadway.

To support the new division Mercury Security & Facilities Management will be creating over 90 jobs in Northern Ireland in the coming months, with a recruitment drive expected to begin soon.

Mercury CEO, Frank Cullen said the investment will help the company remain at the forefront of the industry.

“We have invested more than £500,000 into the new division and are delighted that we continue to contribute to the local economy here in Northern Ireland with further job creation. I'm confident that our new range of services will enable clients to streamline their current outsourcing requirements, allowing them to benefit from an innovative approach and bespoke service which will handle all their facilities management needs through a single, cost effective and efficient point of contact."
