GLOBAL sandwich giant Subway has become the latest retailer to move into the vibrant Titanic Quarter, creating nine jobs.

Under the ownership of Stephen and Keith Tierney, who operate three other stores in Northern Ireland, the Titanic Quarter Subway will be situated within the Arc retail units on the Queen's Road, located below the Arc Apartments.

The Arc is home to over 1,000 residents and adjacent to the SSE Arena, Citigroup, Belfast Met and leading tourist attraction, Titanic Belfast.

Commercial director of Titanic Quarter, James Eyre welcomed the new addition and hopes it will be one of a number of new tenants.

“We are delighted to welcome such a globally recognised brand to the Arc Retail and wish Stephen and Keith every success with their new Subway store. Titanic Quarter’s growing number of residents, workers, students and tourists have made the Arc Retail a destination of choice and we will see further retail businesses opening here in the very near future.”

Titanic Quarter Subway owner, Keith Tierney added:

“We have embraced the opportunity to open in Titanic Quarter as the area is continually developing and growing. We can’t wait to bring the popular Subway offer to the diverse mix of customers in the area – from people who work, study and live here, to tourists and event goers.”

The opening of the new Subway store in Belfast comes just weeks after the retailer closed its outlet on Royal Avenue in the city centre.

Over £425 million has been invested in Belfast's Titanic Quarter to date, providing permanent employment for almost 6,000 staff. Development of 1.5 million sq ft has been completed in the area, with planning permission agreed for a further 3 million.
