Three local business groups to promote north's economy at Westminster event
THREE of the north's leading business organisations are to hold an event focused on the local economy at Westminster in September.
Retail NI, Hospitality Ulster and Manufacturing NI are jointly hosting the event on September 5, which will be addressed by the Secretary of State, Karen Bradley and the Shadow Secretary, Tony LIoyd, on the Terrace at the House of Commons.
It is the first time the Northern Ireland-based business groups have hosted such an event at Westminster, to which MPs, Peers, local businesses and London-based diplomats will be invited.
In a joint statement, the chief executives of Retail NI, Hospitality Ulster and Manufacturing NI, Glyn Roberts, Colin Neill and Stephen Kelly said:
“Between our three groups, we represent businesses which provide most of the private sector jobs in Northern Ireland. We intend this to be biggest ever Northern Ireland business and economy focused event at Westminster highlighting our world class products and promoting the region as one of the best locations in these islands to shop, socialise and to start and locate a business.
“This will be a unique opportunity for the local business community to network with key decision-makers at Westminster.
“Despite our political difficulties and having no Government in place, our three organisations has a key role in promoting Northern Ireland as a fantastic place to do business”
