THE head of one of the UK's leading fitness equipment manufacturers is this year's Herbert Smith Freehills Young Leader of the Year.

Gregory Bradley, managing director of Belfast-based BLK BOX received the award at the recent Young Leaders Northern Ireland Conference.

Employing a team of 21 and with an impressive 30,000 sq ft headquarters in the Titanic Quarter, the judges were won over the compelling combination of Mr Bradley’s determination, his passion for the business and his humility.

The judges were further impressed by the leadership he has consistently demonstrated by investing in training and development both for himself and his team.

Lisa McLaughlin, director of Herbert Smith Freehills' Belfast office, paid tribute to the "extremely worthy award winner".

"By identifying an initial gap in the market and creating and building his business from that initial vision, Gregory has successfully disrupted the market to his advantage," she said.

"He is outward looking with ambitious plans to grow his business globally, and the way in which he has invested in, inspired and developed his team has clearly been central to his success. Gregory will receive a place on one of the executive courses at The William J Clinton Leadership Institute at Queen's University which will present a fantastic opportunity for him to continue to enhance his leadership skills and inspire others in his team."
