OMAGH engineering firm Telestack is undertaking its largest ever single order for Oman as part of an ongoing $15 billion infrastructure investment to cater for the export requirements of its local mining, quarrying and cement industries.

Building on the success of its aggregate and mining equipment the material handling company has successfully diversified into broader areas, recently securing over £10million of additional business for its ship loading systems, supplying customers in the Middle East, Russia, USA, South America, Africa and Europe.

Steve Harper, Invest NI’s executive director of international business, welcomed the company’s achievements during a meeting with Telestack’s US based Group President of aggregate and mining international Rick Patek at Hillhead 2018, the leading exhibition for the quarrying, construction and recycling industries, in which 17 Northern Ireland companies exhibited.

“Telestack contributes significantly to Northern Ireland’s materials handling industry and its export success is indicative of the company’s growing, global customer base. This business has a long-standing relationship with Invest NI and we are delighted to be supporting Telestack achieve its growth potential.

“Northern Ireland is a recognised centre of excellence in the design and manufacture of materials handling equipment. Hillhead 2018 presents valuable opportunities for companies in this supply chain to showcase their world-class products and engineering expertise.”

Now employing over 6,000 people, the north’s materials handling industry manufactures more than 40 per cent of the world's mobile crushing and screening equipment.

Telestack commercial director Malachy Gribben said: “This is our 10th Hillhead and our display this year demonstrates how our investment in new product development, coupled with input from our industry leading global dealer network, produces the most innovative and consistently reliable equipment in the material handling market.

“We have six new models on our stand this year, showcasing the latest ground-breaking equipment for the aggregate and mining markets."

He added: "Endorsements such as the Port of Salalah contract are a massive achievement for us but we don’t take this success lightly. In this business you have to earn experience and our customers deserve our continual investment. Continuous innovation has been critical to our growth and our ambition this year is to expand our export reach further.”
