Landmark Fitzpatrick’s Bar & Restaurant for sale

AN award-winning bar and restaurant in Co Louth has gone on sale, with offers in excess of €1.5 million being considered

Sherry FitzGerald Carroll have confirmed their instructions to offer the landmark Fitzpatrick’s in Jenkinstown for sale on the instructions of Grant Thornton.

Fitzpatrick’s is a modern and extensive licensed premises and restaurant occupying a pivotal position on the scenic Carlingford route-way and a short drive from the Dublin to Belfast motorway which also provides direct access to Newry.

For over 20 years, it has been one of the best known gastro-pubs/restaurants in Louth winning numerous awards including the Best Gastro Pub Michelin Eating Out in Pubs award for the past five years, and a certificate of excellence from TripAdvisor to name but a few. It has also hosted former US vice-president Joe Biden.

The property has been extended to provide restaurant and catering facilities for 180 covers. Outside there is a partially covered courtyard providing additional seating facilities during the summer months.

The bar and restaurant was trading until recently and a satisfactory level of turnover was being generated from the business. According to the selling agents, there is ample scope to reinstate, improve, expand and develop the business levels and exploit the key selling points of the business.

The property, which occupies a site of 3.47 hectares (8.57 acres), offers development potential and has a previous grant of planning for an 18 room accommodation.

“The sale of Fitzpatrick’s offer a discerning purchaser a unique opportunity to acquire a highly successful licensed premises and restaurant which is best known for its charming interiors, fine cuisine and all round dining experience,” says Brian Carroll, managing director at Sherry FitzGerald Carroll.
