BELFAST-based Stellify Media, the production company behind revamped hit shows Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? and Blind Date, has launched an internship aimed at students looking to launch a possible career in the TV industry.

The scheme aims to help establish Belfast as an international production hub and create a world class pool of talent from the area.

The paid internship runs from mid-June through to September, with the successful candidate enjoying a summer in Stellify Media’s development team and production teams to gain first-hand experience of all aspects of TV production.

Students currently enrolled on a media course in the north are all eligible to apply to the scheme, which has the full support of all course tutors and trade body NI Screen.

The scheme is being headed up by Stellify’s head of development Tom Popay and head of operations Vikkie Taggart.

Mr Popay said “Having started my own career in TV through an internship, I know how valuable they can be in helping young people break into the industry.

"Many people don’t even know there are jobs in TV production, let alone where they can get advice or experience working for a producer.

"Stellify remains fully committed to finding and nurturing a new generation of passionate, skilled and hard-working talent so we’re excited to be launching this new initiative.

"Applicants can download and complete a questionnaire and email a copy of their CV to info@stellifymedia.com by the deadline of Friday June 8.”

Formed in 2014, Stellify Media is a joint venture between Sony Pictures Television and joint managing directors Kieran Doherty and Matthew Worthy.

Specialising in entertainment production, its current roster includes Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? for ITV and Blind Date (The Dating Game) and Gino’s Win Your Wish List for Channel 5. Based in Belfast, Stellify Media marks SPT’s first move into production in Northern Ireland.
