Belfast software firm creating 18 new jobs to boost European sales

A BELFAST-based software is almost doubling its workforce and investing in R&D in a bid to grow sales in Britain and Europe.

Fluent Technology is creating 18 new jobs, which will add over half a million pounds in additional salaries annually to the north's economy.

The indigenous software company, which specialises in grant management software (GMS) for private and public sector clients across the UK and Ireland is hoping the investment enhance its European client base as it strives to become a market leader.

Roles to be recruited include account executives, grant administrator’s, engineers and customer support staff.

Fluent Technology’s managing director, Keith Turkington said the investment will create new opportunities for the ambitious local firm.

“We are creating a niche for ourselves in an ever competitive market. By increasing our workforce and investing in new product development, we can now look further into Great Britain and Europe for new business opportunities," he said.

“Our mission is to deliver significant year on year sales growth and become the UK’s leading provider of online grant management software."

Invest NI has offered Fluent Technology £286,000 of support for the new roles and R&D support towards the development of its 'Flexi Grant' system and accompanying app, which allows customers to access its system whilst on the go.

Director of technology and services at Invest NI, Brian Dolaghan, added:

“Invest NI has built a strong relationship with Fluent Technology over the years, supporting it to create ten jobs in 2014. Our R&D support has also helped it to develop its market leading grant management software solution called Flexi-Grant. It is great to see our support leading to new opportunities for the company which has already secured new contracts for its system in Tanzania, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Ireland.”

Fluent Technology, based at Rowan House on the Beechill Road, was established in 2001 and currently employs 23 staff.
