Deloitte named NOW Group Champion of the Year

Mark McClintock, impact lead partner at Deloitte Belfast, with NOW Group chief executive Maeve Monaghan

BUSINESS advisory firm Deloitte has been awarded the title of Champion of the Year by the NOW Group, the Belfast-based social enterprise which supports people with learning difficulties and autism and helps them get jobs with a future.

Last year NOW was selected as one of the charities to benefit from Deloitte's 'One Million Futures' programme. This five-year social impact strategy aims to improve the lives of one million people across the UK.

One Million Futures will see the firm work with more than 45 charities, schools and social enterprises across the UK to invest in a range of programmes that seek to raise aspirations, improve skills and develop leaders. NOW said the partnership has had a significant impact.

Deloitte has supported 41 NOW staff, building their capacity and confidence to effectively run their ever growing business - 16 per cent of whom have a learning difficulty.

The firm has also delivered over £72,000 in total investment in pro bono and volunteering time and is working closely with the NOW Group to make Deloitte a more connected place to work.
