NI companies on show at world-leading digital conference

A LOCAL delegation is in America this week showcasing the very latest in digital and creative technologies to an international conference.

A total of 15 companies and music acts are attending South by Southwest (SxSW), the world's leading event for music, film and technology. Held in Austin, Texas, the event attracts key decision makers from the US and other global markets. Invest Northern Ireland is supporting the delegation to attend this year’s event to demo their digital and interactive products and meet with potential trade partners.

Invest NI chief executive, Alastair Hamilton said: "Northern Ireland has a growing Digital ICT sector, with immersive tech and artificial intelligence (AI) being cited as a hotbed of emerging technology development. We’re delighted to be at SxSW supporting local companies including Kainos, On Music and Speed Motion Films to showcase new technologies such as AI and next generation mobile which are at the very forefront of this evolving sector.”

“Belfast based Neurovalens is demonstrating its Modius headset, the next generation of wearable health tech, and QUB spin out Incisiv is showcasing how the use of immersive technology and motion capture can drive enhanced sports performance. All of this innovative technology has been developed in Northern Ireland and the potential for more of our companies to move into this space is unlimited," he added.

Northern Ireland companies attending SxSW include: Champion Sound Music, Incisiv, Kainos Evolve, Kainos Group PLC, Appattic, MakeMatic Ltd, Neurovalens, On Music, Origin Digital NI Ltd, Silverink, Analogue Catalogue and Speed Motion Films.
