BARGAIN retailer B&M opens its latest Northern Ireland store on Friday at Forestside.

B&M acquired the former JJB store at Drumkeen Retail Park, which has undergone an extensive internal and external refurbishment programme.

And its opening has created 25 jobs, mostly filled by young people from the south Belfast area.

Staff were asked to nominate a local charity they think deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community, and they chose Macmillan Cancer Support, who will be taking centre stage as they officially unveil the new B&M store.

MacMillan provides specialist care and support for people living in the local area with cancer, right from the moment they’re diagnosed, through their treatment and beyond. Through their services they can help people affected by cancer with financial difficulties and advice about work, or just be a listening ear.

In addition to opening the new store, the charity representatives also receive £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for taking part and for all their hard work in the local area.

Store manager Lana Kinnier said: “The team from Macmillan Cancer Support really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local community, and we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you. We hope our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”

She added: “The new team has been working really hard to get the store ready, and we can’t wait to get the doors open on Friday and show customers their new B&M Forestside.”

B&M is one of the UK’s fastest growing retailers and customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded products including toys, food & drink, home ware, pet products, health & beauty and seasonal range.
