THE Ivory restaurant on the top floor of Belfast's House of Fraser has re-opened following a £75,000 refurbishment, part of a wider £5 million refit of the department store.

The restaurant has decked out the space with pastel pinks and blues colours internally, while lime greens and florals take prominence for the balcony area offering panoramic views over the city sky scape.

Soft lighting is combined with and a mixture of wooden and grey tiled flooring giving it an elegant feel for the 2,000 customers the restaurant serves each week on dishes of ingredients from local suppliers such as Walter Ewing’s smoked salmon to Kettle beef from Co Fermanagh.

The restaurant is operated independently to House of Fraser by restaurant operators, father and son Brian and Adam Stockman who also operate the Ivory Champagne bar which opened in 2016 on the womenswear floor.

Adam said: “Guests will instantly notice the improvements we have made from the restaurant interior to completely overhauling the toilet facilities and on the balcony which overlooks the city raising the restaurant to another level and will provide diners with a totally new experience.

"The space is extremely warm and welcoming with corners for cosy catch ups as well as areas that are perfect for corporate bookings with their own private bar."

He added: "It's been an exciting time for the us including the six-strong kitchen team headed up by Kieron Donnelly with all the changes and we look forward to delivering our signature food coupled with our renowned service to guests in the newly refurbished setting.”
