A MAGHERAFELT blinds manufacturer has opened a new retail store on Belfast's Lisburn Road, creating six new jobs.

Bloc Blinds has launched the two-storey design studio to enhance its retail presence, with the newly created roles across sales, production, research and development and marketing.

Established in 2006, Bloc Blinds has become one of the UK’s leading designers and manufacturers of innovative blinds and skylight systems. The firm employs over 100 staff at its headquarters in Magherafelt, has online customers across the world and its products have been sold in John Lewis since 2014.

Managing director, Cormac Diamond said the latest investment follows hot on the heels of a £4 million expansion of manufacturing operations in Magherafelt.

“This has given us the confidence to expand our operation and make our move onto the high street, first with a trial store in our hometown of Magherafelt and now our flagship store on Belfast’s Lisburn Road.”
