A Co Antrim manufacturer is creating eight new jobs as part of plans to grow its presence in the global aircraft interiors industry.
Carrickfergus-based IPC Mouldings has invested in new technology, a new IT system and is creating the eight new positions over the next 12 months in order to sustain growth. As part of the recruitment process four staff are coming from Michelin in Ballymena, which is due to close next year.
The major investment from IPC has enabled the company to diversify into new sectors and pursue new international contracts in the aircraft seating and healthcare industries as well as improve efficiencies in daily processes.
Managing director of IPC, Joanne Liddle said the investment was required to ensure long-term growth at the firm.

"We are delighted that the first four of our new employees are coming from Michelin in Ballymena. These are highly motivated, well trained individuals with some excellent transferrable skills who are very employable. We have implemented in house training programmes so that they can get up to speed with IPC manufacturing processes as soon as possible," she said.
Invest NI has contributed £96,000 towards the new jobs and director of advanced manufacturing and engineering, Bill Montgomery said the investment will ensure sustainable growth.

Additionally, securing new business in the medical sector will help the company in another fast growing industry.”
Operating primarily in the aerospace and medical sectors using advanced engineering polymers and processing techniques, IPC Mouldings is one of only 39 UK companies that has achieved the coveted SC21 Silver Award.
