DUNGANNON modular construction firm the McAvoy Group has been recognised with a major industry award.

McAvoy was presented with the award for ‘Best Virtual Reality BIM (Building Information Modelling)’ at the third annual RICS BIM4SME Awards. The accolade was for the design and delivery of a two-storey primary school building for children with special educational needs at West Hill School for Surrey County Council.

Managing director of the McAvoy Group, Eugene Lynch said:

The company, which delivers fast-track design and build projects utilising off-site technology, was in September awarded a lucrative £8.2 million contract for the design and construction of an English primary school. The McAvoy Group, has secured the deal for the new 630-pupil primary school for Concordia Academy in Romford, Essex. The building will be manufactured in McAvoy’s factory in Co Tyrone.
