POPULAR Belfast restaurant Stix & Stones is to open its second branch in the city at the Balmoral Hotel, creating 15 new jobs.

The 42-bedroom hotel on the Blacks Road is collaborating with the city centre restaurant to bring a new dining experience to west Belfast, with bookings already received ahead of the launch next month.

As well as a delicious variety of carefully selected local steak and seafood, diners can also look forward to the unique ‘stone experience’ where they can cook this produce on hot stones (optional) at their own table, in the beautiful surroundings created by Irish designer, Audrey Gaffney.

Director of the Balmoral Hotel and proprietor of Stix & Stones, John Trainor said was excited to be bringing the cuisine crafted by some of Ireland’s well-known chefs, Martin Courtney and Kevin Roberts to west Belfast.

“We hope to build on the brand that Stix and Stones has currently in our Upper Queen Street branch so we can continue to deliver great tasting food, a memorable dining experience and the excellent service we are best known for," he said.

“The new restaurant will open in September and we’ve already had bookings. The feedback so far has been really encouraging and there is great demand from both our current customer base and the local community, to avail of a new dining experience on their doorsteps."

"Our ethos works on the philosophy of 'fresh quality food sourced locally'. We ensure ingredients for all our dishes come from local suppliers where possible. In addition to this, organic, free range and artisan producers are reviewed on a regular basis, with our own chefs inspecting off-site premises to find the very best ingredients,” he added.

To meet the demands of the expansion, Stix & Stones will be hiring 15 additional staff, encompassing chefs and front of house staff to add to the current skilled work force, at the new Balmoral location.

An open night recruitment evening for these positions will take place on Wednesday August 23 from 6pm to 9pm at the Balmoral Hotel or you can send you CV to info@stixandstonesbelfast.co.uk.
