THE NEW four-star AC by Marriott Hotel at Belfast Harbour’s City Quays is set to open early next year it has been confirmed.

Outer construction is now complete on the £25 million project, with work now underway on completing the fit-out of the hotel's 188 bedrooms and its Jean Christophe-Novelli restaurant. The hotel is due to open in early 2018.

Last year multi-national company Marriott confirmed its first hotel in Northern Ireland would be located within the Belfast Harbour development and said it would be well placed to tap into the city's growing reputation as a conference destination.

Earlier this year Michelin-starred French chef Jean-Christophe Novelli announced he has chosen the waterfront hotel development as the location for his first and only restaurant in Ireland.

The 104-seat restaurant, to be known as 'Jean-Christophe Novelli at City Quays’ is to feature a double-height glazed façade and will offer a brasserie menu with all the French flair associated with the popular French chef.

In May Belfast Harbour lodged a planning application for a new Grade A office as part of its waterfront City Quays development.

At 250,000 square feet, the £46 million City Quays 3 will be one of the largest offices to be developed in Northern Ireland.

Subject to planning approval, it’s anticipated that construction work will begin at the end of this year with completion anticipated in late 2019.

It is the latest development to be taken forward by Belfast Harbour and will join office buildings City Quays 1 and 2, and soon to be open Marriott hotel.
