IPC Mouldings fuses with InterTradeIreland in call to engineering graduates

IPC Mouldings - whose managing director Joanne Liddle is pictured here - has announced further investment with a new material requirement planning system and a partnership with InterTradeIreland’s Fusion project

TOOL manufacturer and injection moulding company IPC Mouldings has announced further investment with a new material requirement planning (MRP) system and a partnership with InterTradeIreland's Fusion project.

Operating from a 14,000 sq ft location in Carrickfergus, IPC is an accredited provider of technical solutions for global industries, using advanced engineering polymers and processing techniques.

It recently purchased new machinery, and is now ready to introduce a MRP system, Valuechain AeroDNA, which will allow it to streamline workflow, improving resource utilisation and customer service through integrated production planning.

And as a result the company has partnered with InterTradeIreland and is recruiting a project leader through its graduate programme as part of the Fusion project to manage and implement the new MRP system.

PIC managing director Joanne Liddle said: “We are now seeking to attract an engineering graduate to work as a project leader through the Fusion Project to prepare, test, implement and integrate our new MRP system.

“We are a successful and established company working across many sectors including aerospace, so this is an excellent opportunity for a new engineering graduate. We are utilising the Fusion programme to drive process improvement, increase efficiency and allow the company to expand operations in a competitive global market.

“It's important that young people realise that SMEs can provide a great career path. We've had a recent success story with the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme in association with Queen's University and that graduate has just been appointed as project engineer, so the opportunities are there and can be availed of.”

Margaret Hearty, director of business services and programmes at InterTradeIreland, said: “Product development and innovation is at the heart of growth for any business but often needs costly technology support.

"Fusion can provide that support by helping to fund a high calibre science, engineering or technology graduate and partnering you with a third level institution with specific expertise. With IPC Mouldings we are doing just that.”
