A CO DOWN frozen food company has secured a lucrative £300,000 contract to supply international grocery retailer Iceland.

TS Foods, based in Castlewellan has secured listings for it's Tony's Chippy brand in both Northern Ireland and Scotland.

The new contract means its branded frozen products – Pork Sausages in Batter and Beef Burgers in Batter , will be listed in over 100 Iceland stores.

Tony's Chippy products are already listed in a number of retailers in Northern Ireland and Scotland including Tesco, Spar and Sainsbury's.

TS Foods was formed in 1978 by husband and wife team Tony and Ann Steele to produce a range of convenience foods including the well- known ‘Tony's Chippy Pastie'.

Commercial director Joanne Molloy said the new contract built on a strong presence in Scotland.

"We have been making products that enable Northern Ireland customers to enjoy that authentic chip-shop taste straight from the oven for over 35 years and have also been listed in Asda in Scotland since 2009. With this Iceland deal, we are delighted to be able to widen our reach to help further satisfy demand both here and across the water," she said.

Buyer at Iceland Mark Pearson added:

"TS Foods certainly embody the type of producers we like to work with and we are delighted to be able to help further showcase the Tony's Chippy brand in Scotland and Northern Ireland.”
