TEN jobs are to be created at the Tower Centre in Ballymena after Warren James Jewellers announced its sixth store in Northern Ireland.

Torre Limited Partnership, which is owned by property developer Sam Morrison, has confirmed the new store is due to open early this month and will take up a 1,100 sq foot unit in the popular shopping centre.

Launched in 1979 by a brother and sister team, Warren James Jewellers now has 215 branches, making it one of the largest jewellers in the UK. The chain joins established businesses in the Tower Centre including Primark,Boots and Dunnes Stores.

“This is exciting news for Ballymena that well-known jewellery retailer Warren James will be opening in the centre this spring," Sam Morrison, owner of Torre Limited Partnership, said.

"Last year we made a commitment to invest in the Tower Centre with a £10m capital expenditure project which will reconfigure and improve the scheme.

"This announcement attracted the attention of a selection of new retailers, including Warren James, and we look forward to building on the 30 retailers already in the centre.”

Jonathan Martin, associate director of retail agency at Lambert Smith Hampton added: "Warren James already has a successful presence in Northern Ireland which they are keen to add to with a well-placed and central location in Ballymena.”
