A 3,500-room hotel group has chosen Belfast-headquartered Novosco to upgrade and manage its entire IT infrastructure.

The seven-figure deal will see Novosco work in partnership with Village Hotel Club, which has 28 hotels, to manage its migration to the cloud.

Founded in 1995, Village Hotel Group employs 4,000 people and has a presence in London, Cardiff, Edinburgh and other major cities across Britain.

And the group has been continuing to expand its presence, with plans in place for a new 153-bedroom hotel at Lakeside Business Park in Portsmouth.

Novosco is a managed cloud provider with clients in the public, private and voluntary sectors across the UK and Ireland, including Premiership football teams, some of the UK’s largest health trusts and many of Northern Ireland’s top companies.

It employs nearly 150 people and also has offices in Belfast Manchester Dublin, and Cork.

Novosco managing director Patrick McAliskey said: “Village Hotel Club is a highly dynamic and growing company, and we're delighted to work with them to add value to their business and help facilitate their on-going expansion. As a result of the investment being made, we will be able to scale the company’s IT infrastructure as it continues to grow.”

Dan Morley, head of IT infrastructure and service delivery at Village Hotel Club said: “We are constantly seeking ways to innovate and to provide the best level of service to our customers and employees.

"Partnering with Novosco to manage our infrastructure services will enable us to do that. With Novosco providing managed infrastructure we will be able to select the services we need, when we need them, and grow our business efficiently.”

Novosco (www.novosco.com), which is continuing to recruit for high-value roles in Belfast, recently invested more than £1 million to more-than-double its space in the city, from 5,000 sq ft to over 11,000 sq ft.

Located in the new Concourse 3 building at Catalyst, its impressive new headquarters includes state-of-the-art offices, a gym, library, coffee dock and a virtual reality room.

Last year Novosco acquired English specialist IT security solutions and managed services expert NetDef, further extending its presence in the GB market.
