ICONIC American styled diner Eddie Rocket’s, which has been fuelling people's love affair with the hamburger for decades, brings 30 new jobs to Belfast on Wednesday with the opening of its latest restaurant in Northern Ireland.

Franchisee Justin Ward - who already runs the popular Eddie Rocket’s restaurant on the Lisburn Road - will launch the city’s second diner in Boucher Crescent retail park.

It can accommodate 150 people and is located in the former premises of Ed’s Easy Diner, which closed in late 2016.

Ward said: “We're hugely excited to open the doors of our newest Eddie Rocket's in Belfast and look forward to working closely with local communities, through sponsorship and charity events, over the coming year.

“Eddie Rocket’s has proven incredibly popular with Northern Irish consumers since its arrival in 2015 and we are committed to further expanding the franchise in the very near future.”

He said his ambitious plans for the brand include launching another new diner in Belfast city centre in the coming months.

The latest restaurant in Belfast marks the 39th Eddie Rocket’s diner in operation, in addition to five Rocket’s by Eddie Rocket’s, two ‘The Counter’ restaurants and one ‘Flash Harry’s’ – both also owned by the Eddie Rocket’s chain.

By 2018, it’s expected that there will be 100 Eddie Rockets and Rockets throughout Europe.
