THE Generation Innovation 'Night of Ambition', recognised as one of Northern Ireland’s most inspiring educational events, will take place this year on March 8.

Run by Connect at Catalyst Inc (previously known as the NI Science Park), the event is now in its seventh year and is aimed at young people showing a spark for innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship regardless of their academic subject choices.

Held in partnership with Deloitte, the Night of Ambition will feature a mix of inspiring talks from a range of exceptional individuals who have developed world leading products in areas such as medical technology, biotech, financial technology, cyber security, robotics and artificial intelligence

The event uniquely provides the opportunity for creative young people aged from 16 to18 to experience first-hand the world-changing innovations that are happening in Northern Ireland, collaborate with local innovative entrepreneurs and engage with future employers.

In previous years students have heard from the likes of Twitter co-founder and chief executive Jack Dorsey, and music producer and technology enthusiast Will.i.am.

Euan Isles, head of impact at Deloitte Belfast, said: “Over the next five years our aim is to help one million people get to where they want to be, whether it’s in the classroom, the workplace or the boardroom, so we're excited to again sponsor Generation Innovation’s Night of Ambition.

"Exploring the ideas, industries and jobs that will shape the future of our knowledge economy, the evening will provide an excellent opportunity to showcase the young local talent who will become the business leaders, entrepreneurs and change agents of tomorrow.”

Generation Innovation programme manager at Connect Diane Morrow said: “Generation Innovation energises the imaginations and aspirations of our young people by increasing their awareness of future careers as innovators. They are central to unlocking our future as a globally renowned knowledge economy. That’s why we put them at the heart of an inspirational network of experienced entrepreneurs, universities and employers.”
