HENDERSON Wholesale has revealed a £200,000 investment in developing a new fresh local food range.

The produce is to be sold at the Henderson Group's Spar, Eurospar and Vivo stores.

The range, known as The Kitchen offers fresh meal solutions for quick and easy dinners.

Armagh’s Daily Bake, Willowbrook Foods in Killinchy, Big Pot Co in Cookstown and Quinfresh from Dungannon are among suppliers.

Neal Kelly, fresh foods director at Henderson Wholesale said: "We launched this particular line of products in 2015 as the Meals Made Delicious brand. Since then, we have seen sales of £2 million per annum, however we knew we could meet the demand of the consumer more effectively by evolving with the market.

"As the consumer market moves so quickly we have reacted – this has now grown into ‘The Kitchen’ range.”

“This is a whole new take on convenience and ready meals; everything is freshly made with the consumer’s convenience in mind. We want to be the consumers’ first port of call for a fresh and valuable solution for tonight’s tea.”

Paddy Doody, sales and marketing director at Henderson Group added: “We are always working to improve our offering to our customers and investing in products and services that meet the needs of our customers. The investment of over £200,000 into The Kitchen range is testament to our dedication to leading the market for tonight’s tea. The range brings high quality, locally produced products to shelves at an attractive price and I hope our customers enjoy the range.”
