A MAGHERA joiner has been given a four year boardroom ban after his business went into liquidation.

Patrick Gallagher (44) of Ranaghan Road had been director of Gallagher Contracts.

But when the firm was liquidated in 2014, it owed creditors £246,199 it couldn't pay.

The Department for the Ecomony said that Gallagher allowed the company to hold on to £115,183 due in various taxes between 2009 and 2014.

Annual accounts meanwhile were not prepared of riled for the years 2008 to 2013 within the statutory time period.

Annual returns for the years 2008 to 2011 were filed late while those for 2013 were not filed at all.

The Department for the Economy said it had accepted 25 disqualification undertakings since April while the High Court had made three orders disqualifying directors over the same period.
