Postgraduate opportunities on offer at Cafre open evening
CAFRE'S Loughry Campus near Cookstown is hosting a postgraduate courses open evening next Tuesday (5–9pm) aimed at those thinking about furthering their education, changing careers, or wanting to build their confidence to be ready to grasp opportunities that come their way.
The event will give attendees the opportunity to speak to staff and current students and find out more about the programmes on offer.
The postgraduate programmes at Loughry are awarded by Queen's University Belfast and are designed specifically to meet the needs of those working or entering the agri-food or rural business sectors. They can be completed on either a full or part-time basis, one evening a week.
A number of Cafre students are currently preparing to undertake their MSc research in Austria and Vienna.
One of the students said: “We would recommend the MSc in business for agri-food and rural enterprise to anyone who wishes to further their education and enhance their career prospects. It gives you hands-on experience, as many of the assignments are related to real work based projects and job roles.
"The teaching staff are also extremely supportive in providing help and advice. We would definitely recommend it for anyone to attend the open evening to find out more about the programmes. It was a great step for us.”
More than 94 per cent of those completing a Cafre course enter employment or pursue further education, six months after graduating. Graduates have gained positions in the agri-food and rural business sector, government departments and local councils, with graduates involved in marketing, human resources, communication, IT and management.
For more information about the postgraduate opportunities, come along to the open evening on Tuesday June 28, go to www.cafre.ac.uk or phone 0800 0284291.
