HENERSON Wholesale has launched a new line for their own-brand range in collaboration with one of Northern Ireland’s longest established butchers.

The company, run by Spar and Eurospar owners Henderson Group, launched the 'enjoy local' range last year using meat from Ballymena’s K&G McAtamney butchers.

The new range complements the rest of the 100 per cent locally sourced BBQ range for enjoy local, which also includes popular meat, poultry, salad and deli salad solutions from Henderson’s suppliers including Ballyclare’s Fred C Robinson, Rockvale Poultry in Armagh, Willowbrook Foods in County Down and Dungannon-based Dunbia.

Avondale Foods in Craigavon has extended its line of deli salads for the enjoy local range to include cheese coleslaw and chipotle coleslaw, as well as a sundried tomato pasta with feta cheese and a quinoa and edamame bean salad.

The fresh food team at Henderson Wholesale has also developed speciality barbecue range with K&G McAtamney’s for summer eating.

Henderson Group fresh food director Neal Kelly said: “The enjoy local range has come on leaps and bounds over the past year. It has already expanded from 126 products to 144, from a total of 25 local suppliers and now we’re delighted to launch the revamped meat and poultry range.

“It is down to our fantastic suppliers, right here in Northern Ireland that continue to be innovative and know the NI convenience market so well, that we can develop new and seasonal ranges like this, and our speciality BBQ products.

“The new ranges are on the shelves of our Spar and Eurospar stores now, and even if the Northern Irish summer fails us, they can be cooked in the oven but still have that authentic barbecue aroma and taste.

“The enjoy local range will continue to grow and diversify as consumer trends and demands change, while we endeavour to meet these trends and enable them to break through into the convenience sector.”
