THE north’s largest independent new and used vehicle retailer the Donnelly Group has acquired the former Gormley Motors Vauxhall dealership in Omagh for an undisclosed sum.

Further increasing the Donnelly Group’s representation of the Vauxhall brand, the Omagh dealership will trade under the new name of Donnelly Vauxhall and add to the existing award-winning Vauxhall dealership in Dungannon.

And an expansion of the facility’s showroom, the introduction of the Donnelly Motorstore brand and an approved commercial van centre – to be located at an adjacent site on the Dromore Road – are all part of plans for the newly acquired site.

Donnelly Group executive chairman Terrence Donnelly said: “We are delighted to expand our relationship with the Vauxhall brand and bring an enhanced Donnelly Group offering to the Omagh area.

“Our experience with the Vauxhall franchise and our commitment to keeping the customer central to everything we do will be pivotal in enhancing the overall customer experience and choice to local car and van customers”.

Donnelly Group director Raymond Donnelly added: “It's our intention to grow and expand our representation across Northern Ireland, and the addition of Omagh means we now have eight convenient locations our customers can choose from.”

Vauxhall’s regional operations manager for Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man, Gordon Hannen, said: “Vauxhall are delighted to be expending our representation with the Donnelly Group in Northern Ireland.

“We have an excellent working relationship with the directors and management of Donnelly Vauxhall, and we are excited to see the group’s expansion plans coming together with our brand.”

Offering new vehicles from 18 separate manufacturers, the Donnelly Group sells more than 15,000 vehicles a year and has a staff of 680 people.
