MEXICAN resort Cancun has been added to the destinations serviced from Belfast by Thomas Cook Airlines.

The carrier has announced a four-flight mini-series from Belfast International Airport to run next summer over four Mondays from June 26.

Cancun is the fourth new long-haul destination by Thomas Cook Airlines from Belfast with Cuba, Las Vegas and Florida all already lined up.

Uel Hoey, business development director, Belfast International Airport, said: “We are thrilled to note this significant expansion of Thomas Cook’s direct long haul programme from Belfast - now across four different routes in 2017.

“We know that there is strong market demand from Northern Ireland for long haul holidays and we will continue to work closely with Thomas Cook, and other partners, to develop the widest possible choice for local holidaymakers, literally from the convenience of their own doorstep at Belfast International Airport.”
